Americo Pinto is widely recognized as one of the leading voices in the world of Project Management Offices (PMOs). Today, he serves as the Managing Director of the PMO Global Alliance (PMOGA) at the Project Management Institute, bringing more than 25 years of experience to this role. Over the years, Americo has worn many hats: executive, international consultant, speaker, project manager, professor, researcher, and author—all while building a global reputation for his expertise in PMOs and project management.

His career path includes key leadership and consulting roles at organizations like Noorden Group, Compass International, Deloitte, and Arthur Andersen, where he led strategic initiatives and delivered measurable results for some of the world’s most prominent companies.

In 2017, Americo founded the PMO Global Alliance (PMOGA), a milestone that further cemented his influence on the global PMO community. PMOGA became part of the Project Management Institute in 2023, extending its impact even further.

Americo’s work has been recognized with the prestigious PMI Distinguished Contribution Award, and his long history with PMI includes co-founding the PMI Rio de Janeiro Chapter in the 1990s, where he later served as vice president for six years.

On the international stage, Americo is a sought-after speaker at major conferences worldwide. He also led the development of the PMO Value Ring® methodology, created with a team of 122 PMO leaders from 19 countries.

As an author, Americo has written three books on project management and PMOs and contributed chapters and articles to leading publications, including Project Management Next Generation and The PMO Project Management Office Handbook.

With more than two decades of academic experience, he has taught over 6,000 students at prestigious institutions such as Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Latin America. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from IBMEC Brazil and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Bordeaux, France.

Americo also brings a strong set of professional credentials to the table, including PMP, PMI-PMOCP, IPMA-A, and PMO-CC certifications.
