Bianica Pires is a Research Assistant Professor at the Biocomplexity Institute of Virginia Tech. Her research involves understanding and exploring complex social systems by building theoretically and empirically grounded models of social phenomena using various computational methods, including agent-based modeling, social network analysis, and geographic information systems. Bianica received her Ph.D. from George Mason University in Computational Social Science.
